FOOD SHELF MINISTRY
At Good News Assembly, we place a high priority on outreach and ministry to our local community. The
Good News Food Shelf is our regular monthly outreach to those in St.
Cloud and the surrounding areas. Providing food, clothing, baby items, and
more, we desire to reach out to those who are hurting and in need with the love
of Jesus Christ. The Food Shelf was first started over 20 years ago when we saw the need to help the people of our community who were struggling to have enough to feed their families. Over time, we have grown from a very small food shelf to now serving over 200 families each month. We give away about 14,000lbs of food every month. Some food is purchased from St. Paul's Food Bank while other food is donated locally.
We offer free clothing and some household items at both the Evening and Afternoon Food Shelfs. Clothing consists of mostly children's clothing and a waiting list is available for baby furniture (cribs, rocking chairs, etc.). Free haircuts are also happily offered during the Evening Food Shelf by our two hair dressers.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the Food Shelf, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you. We are here to serve!

Families must meet low income standards.
Each person is required to fill out individual paperwork for filing purposes.
Picture IDs are required as well as a piece of mail showing residence in the community. We serve the St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, and Sartell areas. (If you live outside of the serving area, we recommend that you go to the Food Shelf closest to your area.) We are unable to deliver any groceries or other items.
No tips on haircuts, please. The only requirement is that hair must be clean. (If for any reason a person's hair is unable to be cut, the hair dresser will speak with the person.)
The Afternoon Food Shelf is set aside as a time for the elderly or physically disabled only.
