WHAT IS BGMC?

BGMC (which stands for Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) is our foreign missions program for the Children's Ministries' Department of Good News Assembly.

Through BGMC, children are introduced to the needs of other children all over the world. They are able to see that there are hurting people all over the world that desperately need the love and hope of Jesus Christ. BGMC offers a tangible way to reach out and minister in places and ways they could only dream of. Each month, children are challenged to help our missionaries by bringing an offering to buy tools missionaries use--such as Sunday School materials, puppets, textbooks, Bibles, songbooks, and much more.

Each and every penny that is given helps to further spread the Gospel to the needy children of the world.

Since the start of BGMC in 1949, children in churches all over the United States have given $78,563,898.36!

Mission Statement: Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge exists to serve the church in preparing children for their fullest participation in world evangelization. As a children's missions education agency of the Assemglies of God, BGMC is committed to beginning the processes of missions awareness, missions concern, and missions stewardship in each young life and to introducing children at the earliest possible age to Christ's Great Commission. HIGH VOLTAGE KIDS & BGMC

Since the summer of 2005, High Voltage Kid's Church has been actively giving to BGMC. Over $2,500 has been given thus far to help missionaries minister with the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Our 2008 is set at $800.00!


HOW DO KIDS SAVE THEIR BGMC OFFERING?

Each child in High Voltage Kid's Church (ages 6 and up) is given small, yellow barrel. We call this barrel the Buddy Barrel. Each child uses this barrel to save their extra change. Each month in HVKC, our BGMC Celebration Sunday takes place where children bring their barrels filled with their saved coins and dollars. Missionary highlights, spotlight video clips, and faith-building stories are shared during this special missions service.  


WHEN IS BGMC CELEBRATION SUNDAY?

Our monthly BGMC Celebration Sunday takes place every first Sunday of each month during our regular Sunday Morning High Voltage Kid's Service. BGMC is geared for all children ages 6 and up.


WHAT ARE WAYS KIDS CAN RAISE MONEY FOR BGMC?

Children are encouraged to get creative when thinking of fun ways to raise money for BGMC. Here are a few ideas:
- Having a bake sale or lemonade stand with friends!
- Doing extra chores around the house!
- Offering to help out a neighbor with yardwork for a donation to BGMC!
- Holding a garage sale to sell all those unwanted toys around the house!


MISSIONARY TESTIMONIES: 

"Dear Boys and Girls:
We want to thank you for the wonderful help you have given to the children of Iceland. Every year, we have a big children's camp. There were over 250 children at the camp last year...One of the things that has made the camp exciting for the children are the puppets. The money you have given has helped to buy these puppets. BGMC has also helped us with the equipment we have needed for our radio station called Radio Linden. BGMC is also helping us to produce children's radio programs and children's TV programs...You have helped bring many Icelandic boys and girls to Jesus, because you gave and collected money for BGMC.
